Exfoliating:

New skin cells are created in the dermis, the skin's lowest layer. Over the 30 day life span, skin cells slowly rise to the top as new cells are created below them and old dead skin cells fall away. This natural process can leave your skin looking rough and uneven, clog pores, and give you a dull complexion. Exfoliation helps remove the oldest layer of skin, exposing your new skin, unclogging your pores, reducing acne, and giving you a healthy, glowing appearance.

Be careful not to over-exfoliate with a, sponge, scrubber, or any other exfoliating product. This can irritate or dry out your skin and could also lead to lines and wrinkles

Dead Sea mud has been claimed to benefit your face with its gentle exfoliation, plentiful minerals, and natural cleansing properties, leaving your skin younger looking and glowing beautifully. So, why should you be exfoliating in the very first place? After all, if you recall your biology lessons from school, you would remember having learnt that the uppermost layer of our skin naturally sheds itself every two to four weeks. If that is the case, why bother to make additional effort to remove the same?

The answer lies in the fact that skin tends to have its own shedding process; the time for the same may vary considerably, and for a lot of individuals, a fortnight to a month can be too long a time for which their exterior (read = blemished!) skin would be exposed to the whole world. To get a perspective on this matter, think of ramp models or film and television actors. They can ill afford to expose a face to the world which is full of blemishes. Being in the limelight, they really need to go that extra mile, in order to present a glowing and radiant self to the rest of the world.

The obvious thought that comes to prospective patrons of exfoliation is - “OK, so this isn’t something for me, it is only for the high and mighty.

Well, it would be an absolute anomaly to think that way; exfoliation benefits all and sundry. In fact, even if we take you to be a “common person”, would you not like to present yourself to the rest of the world – however little that world of yours may be, in the best way possible?

Would you not like to be the admiration and envy of those in your circle – your friends and family?

As you age, would you not like to remain looking youthful and radiant?

Those with an eye for attention of the opposite sex, would you not like to continue obtaining (and gaining!) the attention of the same?

If your answer to all the above queries is a resounding YES, then you probably do not need to wonder at all, as to why you should be going in for exfoliation, in the very first place.

By getting rid of the exterior dead skin – which is what has blemishes on it, exfoliating helps bring out the healthy and glowing skin that lies underneath.

You might also like to note that there are usually two different kinds of exfoliating agents – mechanical and chemical. While the mechanical ones work on the premise that you (or somebody else) mechanically rubs the skin in order to remove the dead cells on the exterior, in the case of chemical exfoliation, the same is done with the help of mild acids that dexterously remove exterior dead skin.

In this endeavor, since we are specifically talking about the face here, you would be advised to use only those exfoliating agents which are meant for the face, since usually, there are different agents meant for different parts of the body.

In summation, go ahead and get your skin exfoliated, in order to discover a whole new, rejuvenated identity, lying hidden, underneath your current exterior self.

Some exfoliating skin care products can be harsh on your skin when overused. As you exfoliate your skin be sure to use light pressure at first until you know how your skin reacts to the exfoliating skin care product that you are using.  Exfoliating is the best way to make your skin healthy and glowing!
