How does exfoliating soap work?
Much like
regular soap, exfoliating soaps
have cleansing ingredients, but they also contain natural abrasive
materials in order to help remove the outer layer of dead skin from
your body. This creates glowing healthy looking skin, and combined with
proper moisturization will improve the overall appearance of your skin.
When
choosing a moisturizer it is often recommended to find one that
includes SPF 15 for your face as the sun is a common cause of
skin damage and could lead to a greater risk for skin cancer.
Always use as directed, some exfoliating products are very abrasive and
should not be used daily. The ingedients of most exfoliating soaps are
natural products such as sugar, otmeal, seaweed, bamboo, and many
others. These can be as nourishing for your skin as they are to your
body.

Whitening
Exfoliating Soap by Makari
By Emmly (Midwest) - I have fair, sensitive, oily, acne-prone
skin, unfortunately. I tried this soap because of all the great reviews
it received, as well as... to see if I was missing anything.
I wasn't. I used this for a few days and every time I used it, the next
day I would break out like crazy and the breakouts wouldn't go away. It
took, literally, 5 weeks for my skin to clear up after using the soap.
Went straight into the trash.
I went back to my PanOxyl soap. It's a lot better.
By TK "TK" - I love this soap, It's been only 2 weeks but I
can definitely see some results. I am only using it on my body. My skin
is slowly but surely becoming one color!! highly recommend this product
to those in quest of a uniform skin tone. Hopefully you will be having
more in stock soon since I am planning on ordering again and again!
By QC Mish "stupidiwannakicku" (Junction City, KS) - I was
skeptical about this product being a block of soap at first. I thought
it would make me break out but it did just the opposite. My skin has
never been clearer and more even in tone. I get comments about my skin
now. I even recommended this to a friend.
By Smea - This soap does make my skin very soft, but did not
lighten my skin. I was hoping for a miracle. I have a lot of freckles
and was hoping that this soap would lighten them up, but it didn't.
Oatmeal
Almond Aromatherapy Herbal Soap
By Amanda C (Las
Vegas, NV) - I really love this soap! I am allergic to so many
skin products, but this soap is great. It smells good and doesn't dry
out my skin. Just bought more oatmeal almond and a few different
flavors to try too. Highly recommend!
By M. Johnston "KeystoneKop" (Philadelphia, PA, USA) - Our clan has
sensitive skin, so we love handmade soap b/c it is so gentle compared
to commercial, detergent bars. The Plantlife soaps are great quality.
They contain no preservatives, colorants or fragrance oils. Instead
they are made with essential oils and botanicals. Plantlife's Oatmeal
Almond bar works up into a creamy lather and cheerful cherry-almond
scent. As a nice bonus, the oatmeal and ground almonds provide a little
extra scrubbiness. Emollient enough that we don't need lotion
afterwards. Definitely a winner!
By js - Well worth the price.
I no longer need to use face cream after I wash
my face with this soap.
It leaves my face silky and clean.
Excellent company to do business with.
By P. Defrange "okie" (OK USA) - We have tried several varieties of
this soap and found them all to be excellent. Great company to do
business with. Soaps are creamy and make your skin feel really soft.
The aromas are a great bonus! You will not regret buying any of these
soaps.
L'Occitane Galet Exfoliant Cure de Raisin (Exfoliating Soap, Grape)
By J. richter (billings, mt United States) - This product was
not what I expected it to be. I knew I was purchasing an exfoliating
body soap, but I did not know it would almost pull my skin from my
bones. The granules in the soap are very hard, and not for delicate
skin. The soap smells nice, is very genlte and non irritating, but the
exfoliation is harsh. I think this soap would be good for very callused
areas, but for daily use on regular skin, it is a no go for me.
By tmlwin - I'm currently using this soap, and I love it! It smells
wonderful but not overpowering. The exfoliating particles are very fine
and provides gentle exfoliation. I leather it in my hands before
putting on my body. I don't think you're supposed to rub the soap
directly to the body, like other reviewers seemed to be doing. That
would hurt.
By Melaina Lara (Campbell, California USA) - I
have had much gentler exfoliations from a cheese grater! No, maybe not,
but this was really stingingly, harsh. My skin glowed red from the
blood circulating just under the skin trying to protect it from further
damage. The problem with this is that being in a bar there is no
spreading out of the grit as with an exfoliating liquid, (which they
also make in this scent, but more expensive), it stays concentrated in
the bar and is pretty much the same as using a heavy grit sandpaper.
The soap itself is the 'clear' type, which means it melts down pretty
quickly if you leave it in the conditions of a regularly used shower,
even if you aren't using it everyday, (which I can't, my skin would
look like I had a constant rash.. or it would probably start
bleeding!!).
And for this kind of torture, I mean 'beauty', treatment I paid the
price, literally since it carries a hefty price tag for a bar of soap.
At least though, it smells wonderful, right? (Oh, and no, the scent
doesn't linger, which is actually kinda good because you have to load
up on lotion or body oil after to preserve what remains of your now
soft and burning skin.)
